Daily Schedule

7:00 - 8:00 a.m. Breakfast and Registration

8:00 - 12:00 noon Class Time.  Breaks will be scheduled as appropriate to material.

Noon - 1:00 p.m. Lunch - to be served in adjoining area

1:00 - 4:30 p.m. Class Time.  Breaks as appropriate.

 

 

DAY #1

 

Section 2,3,& 4:   Introduction to the Occupational Safety and Health Act.  Requirements of the Act, the

                          General Duty Clause, Safety Program requirements, Employer and Employee Rights and

                          Responsibilities.  Whistleblower and 11c Protections; Inspections, Citations and Penalties;

                          Recordkeeping; The OSHA Website and 800 number, how to access OSHA materials &

                          resources; Focused inspections, the Four Focus Hazards and where they will be covered in

                          this program.  New OSHA Notices/Standards/ Revisions.  2 1/2 hrs

 

Section 5:            General Safety & Health Provisions Subpart C

                           Competent & Qualified Persons, STD 3-1.1:  1 hr

 

Section 6:            Hazard Communication Subpart D:   1 hr

 

Section 8:            Fire Protection and Prevention, Subpart F:  1hr

 

Section 7:            Personal Protective Equipment and Lifesaving Equipment, Subpart E: 2 hrs

 

Section 9:            Signs, Signals, & Barricades, Subpart G:  1/2 hr

 

 

 DAY #2

 

Section 10:          Materials Handling, Wire Rope and Rigging Subpart H:  1 hr

 

Section 11:          Demolition, Subpart T:  1/2 hr

 

Section 12:          Hand & Power Tools, Subpart I:  1 hr

 

Section 13:          Electrical, Subpart K: 2 hrs

 

Section 14:          Control of Hazardous Energy Sources; Lock-Out/Tag-Out & Blinding  1/2 hr

 

Section 20:          Steel Erection, Subpart R: 1 hr

 

Section 19:          Cranes & Hoists, Subpart N:  1 1/2 hrs

 

 

DAY #3

 

Section 25:          Motor Vehicles, Earthmoving and Mechanized Equipment Subparts O & W:  1 hr

   Powered Industrial Trucks:  1/2 hr

 

Section 16:          Confined Space Entry & Rescue 1926.21.  1 1/2 hrs

 

Section 23:          Ladders and Stairways, Subpart X:   1 hr

 

Section 27:          Health Hazards, Lead, Asbestos, and Silica in Construction 1 hr

 

Section 22:          Stack Frame, Rolling and Suspended Scaffolds, and Aerial Lifts Subpart L:  2 1/2 hrs

 

 

DAY #4

 

Section 26:          Concrete, Concrete Forms & Shoring, Subpart Q: 1 hr

 

Section 24:          Excavations & Trenching, Subpart P: 2 hrs

 

Section 15:          Welding and Cutting, Subpart J: 1 hr

                           Includes related Health Hazards and Hexavalent Chrome Standard:  1/2 hr

 

Section 21:          Fall Protection, Subpart M&E:  2 hrs

 

Section 18:          Process Safety Management Standard (1910.119) as it applies to construction.  1/2 hr

 

Section 28:          Miscellaneous blank forms and methods  1/2 hr
